The Great Outdoors...

Most afternoons the girls and I spend a good bit of time outside enjoying our beautiful creation! God has blessed us with this awesome home and land and we are so grateful for it. Riley Grace especially loves it. She and her friend Tessa spent some time riding the 4 wheeler last week. She loves giving everyone "the tour" of our place (especially if she can do it on the ranger or a 4 wheeler). Maybe we should charge admission...just kidding! While Riley Grace rode the 4 wheeler, Maggie Ruth tried her best to keep them in eye shot!! She doesn't miss a beat of anything Riley Grace is doing.

In case some of you haven't met our newest addition... this is Scamper. He's a border collie that took up at our house about 6 months ago. I must say, I do love having him around!

Lipstick Queen

So I'm sitting in the recliner one morning last week, jabbering on the phone with Marrianne when I notice its mighty quiet in the house... no signs of Maggie Ruth. I call her and here she comes, painted up like a little indian. She's found some lipstick in one of Riley Grace's drawers and she's getting busy! Instead of grabbing the Resolve (carpet cleaner) like I probably should have I promptly grabbed the camera. In case you all haven't gathered...SHE IS A MESS!!!! (and her mother is out to lunch!)
"What, you don't like it?" (what an innocent smile!)

Cheese! Its in my teeth too! Wet N' Wild is pretty tasty!!

Mama let me finish it off while she cleaned the carpet and dresser (of which I kindly smeared it all over) in my sister's room! Thanks SIS!!!

Egg Hunts etc....

What a beautiful day we had to celebrate our Risen Savior! Russell and I had to do things a little different this Easter... Instead of going to church together at Carolina Baptist, I went to First Baptist with my parents and Maggie Ruth. (Short explanation-Maggie has had a virus this week which led to little bitty red polka dots all over her. I didn't want to put her in the nursery at CBC so we went to FBC, where she won't go to the nursery without a hair raising fit... so she sat in my lap.) We met back up a Russell's grandmother's for lunch...YUM!!! The kids had a blast hunting eggs and riding 4 wheelers and such. Next...

The Easter Egg Hunt/ Birthday Party at our house... My parents and Grandmother (Sweatt), Kim and her new beau Evan, Amanda, John, and Bradleigh Lanier (cousins), the girls, Russell and I all enjoyed the late afternoon playing outside. We jumped on the trampoline, rode bikes, and hunted eggs, and hunted eggs, and hunted eggs... oh, did I mention we hunted eggs!! We also celebrated my Daddy's 64th birthday. He's a mighty young looking 64 if I do say so myself! Wish I had a picture to share!
Maggie Ruth's hair goes WILD with static when we get on the trampoline!
Evan and Kim, posing!
...some seriously tired girls and a boy when it was all done!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's On Its Way!

Well, here it is... a picture of Maggie Ruth and she's not smiling. She contemplating (I think). Saturday we went to the Carolina Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt, Maggie's first! Well, to say the least she was not at all interested in hunting eggs. Once she realized there was candy inside the eggs she was done. She worked on a pack of M&Ms the entire hunt. She didn't leave with a single egg in her basket but that wasn't bothering her... her tummy was FULL of candy by then!Riley Grace on the other hand liked the egg hunting part. This is Riley Grace's good friend Holly. They were busy counting how many eggs they'd found and how much candy was in their baskets! I must say I'm a sucker for some candy too!
Bad mother that I am... I didn't manage to get a single picture of the girls together. Maybe next time. Maggie stood and watched every other child run frantically for eggs while she was wondering what all the commotion was about...this was no doubt as solemn as I've seen her in quite a while.

I don't know if any of you know this song, but my daddy always sang it around Easter time...

this songs for you Daddy!

I hope everyone has a blessed Easter!

The Park

With the change in the weather , the girls and I have made it a top priority to find our way to the park. We managed several days last week and we're looking forward to a few more this week. Riley Grace is so good to help Maggie Ruth do whatever she wants to do. There was a mom there last week with her little boy (about Maggie's age) and she said,"I'll be glad to take your little boy down the slide if he wants to go." She makes me proud! She's thoughtful and kind! Maggie Ruth LOVES the slides. The tallest slide is like a free fall for her. She just squeels as she's going down it... Oh, and you should see that blonde hair standing straight up all over her head from the static! Its hilarious!
Maggie also likes just running around in the leaves! They're entertaining to her for some reason.

Andalusia Friends... join us one day when its pretty outside! Just call my cell (818.0667). We go about 3 o'clock.
