5 weeks and a regressing 2 year old...

I know they say its normal...I know they do, but that doesn't make it easy!!! Regression that is. (Dr. Pollard- my OB and Dr. E have told me this was going to happen)
This absolutely gorgeous little face is one very stiff challenge right now. She loves her "Jack Brother" with every bit of her being (that is unless he's being held by her mama) and she tries so hard to give him love all day long, only she doesn't exactly know her limits. There is not a place I can put Jack down that she can't get to him and lately I cannot turn my back. I found her about to sit on his head one day last week, she's tried to pick him up more than once, his eyeballs and nose are a fascination and she wants to "swing him high" in his swing. I have my work cut out for me, I know!
She has also decided that sleeping in her bed by herself at night is no longer an option, she's not able to feed herself anymore (an adult has to) and her legs don't work either (someone must carry her everywhere).
I'm trying my very best to make some time to spend just playing with her each day. These were some pics I snapped last week when we were playing hide and seek.

Jack was 5 weeks old Wednesday. Holy Cow how time flies! Five weeks really seems more like five days to me. (That may be because I'm completely deprived of sleep.) He really is the baby I asked God for. I prayed that I could have a low maintenance, easy going baby and he's all that and more. He ONLY fusses when he's hungry. Although he's not sleeping well at night right now, he's not crying or fussing he's just congested and can't breath well. I'm ready for the weather to stay warm so we can turn the heat off in our house (I think that's whats causing his problem- it does it to me.)

And lastly-

I honestly don't know how I'd do ANYTHING without this precious child! She is so much help and keeps me straight. How did I manage to raise her without her there to help me?

P.S. Park invitation open to any of you locals that like to venture out in the afternoons. The weather is finally changing a little and we've enjoyed several pretty afternoons there.

Poor Rudy! I know I've already told you, but I was the same way (probably worse) when my brother was born. The good news is, he doesn't remember any of it, and about 20 years later, we became the best of friends! There is NO ONE who knows me and can make me laugh like my Johnny!

Ty did the same thing as Maggie Ruth after Andrew was born! And is still doing some crazy things just to get his mama's attention! It's got to pass sometime, right?

Aww, I'll be praying for you and Maggie Ruth that she realizes Jack is not there to take her place. I love that green on your walls. I've been wanting to do one wall in our kitchen that color.

I am so sorry for you and Maggie Ruth! I don't do too well after a few sleepless nights! Maybe this shall pass soon!! I just thought about something...have you ever tried Mother's Day Out at FBC or anything like that just to give you and her a break?

I hope things get better! {I am not looking forward to those days but they are coming very soon for myself!}

Poor Jack!!! He just can't get any loving.
Maggie Ruth is doing the best she can to cope with this new sibling. If you can find me at home, call and bring Jack over to stay with me while you and MR spend some time at the park.
Riley Grace is the best big sister anyone could ask to have.
Love, Aunt Kathy

Hi Kristen, I am Tammy Holt's sister. I live in Kentucky and I've found my way to blogspot through my cousin Kim Turman. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your updates. I was friends with Heather and Callie. I graduated with Callie. So to see Russell grown up and being a parent makes me feel so old, but it's nice to see your page as well as the Clarks, Reeves, etc. I miss home and have been taking cancer treatments so I'm home all day long with nothing to do. Thank God for blogspot. I've enjoyed reading all your posts. Your family is so gorgeous!! God Bless yall. Hope the baby starts sleeping more. :)

Hello sweet Kristen. I have been keeping up with you via your blog. Your kids are adorable. The stories you post are great. It seems like only yesterday we could post the same kind of stories about 4 little girls I remember in Disney World. You are such a great MOM. Yes we MOM's have our challenges but our God will see us through them all. Keeping in touch in Memphis. Give my love to the family. Hope to see you soon.

Hi Kristen! Your kids are beautiful! I remember when Collin was born. Corban was 2 years and 1month and he did the exact same thing. He quit pottying, and he was always trying to pick Collin up or roll him off the couch! He looks out for him now though, so it will get better! :)
