5 weeks and a regressing 2 year old...

I know they say its normal...I know they do, but that doesn't make it easy!!! Regression that is. (Dr. Pollard- my OB and Dr. E have told me this was going to happen)
This absolutely gorgeous little face is one very stiff challenge right now. She loves her "Jack Brother" with every bit of her being (that is unless he's being held by her mama) and she tries so hard to give him love all day long, only she doesn't exactly know her limits. There is not a place I can put Jack down that she can't get to him and lately I cannot turn my back. I found her about to sit on his head one day last week, she's tried to pick him up more than once, his eyeballs and nose are a fascination and she wants to "swing him high" in his swing. I have my work cut out for me, I know!
She has also decided that sleeping in her bed by herself at night is no longer an option, she's not able to feed herself anymore (an adult has to) and her legs don't work either (someone must carry her everywhere).
I'm trying my very best to make some time to spend just playing with her each day. These were some pics I snapped last week when we were playing hide and seek.

Jack was 5 weeks old Wednesday. Holy Cow how time flies! Five weeks really seems more like five days to me. (That may be because I'm completely deprived of sleep.) He really is the baby I asked God for. I prayed that I could have a low maintenance, easy going baby and he's all that and more. He ONLY fusses when he's hungry. Although he's not sleeping well at night right now, he's not crying or fussing he's just congested and can't breath well. I'm ready for the weather to stay warm so we can turn the heat off in our house (I think that's whats causing his problem- it does it to me.)

And lastly-

I honestly don't know how I'd do ANYTHING without this precious child! She is so much help and keeps me straight. How did I manage to raise her without her there to help me?

P.S. Park invitation open to any of you locals that like to venture out in the afternoons. The weather is finally changing a little and we've enjoyed several pretty afternoons there.

3 1/2 weeks old...

Time flies...when you're wrapped up in this sweet life!!! I can hardly believe he's been here 3 1/2 weeks. Here are a few updated pictures of he and Rudy.
(I had not seen any real resemblance in Maggie and Jack until this picture above.)

Jack is back up to his birth weight. As of last Friday he was 7lbs. 13 oz. again (an answered prayer). I was hoping we wouldn't have to begin supplementing and we haven't had to!!! He's growing and getting stronger everyday. Russell and I were talking just last night about how well he can hold his head up. He loves to look around at all that's going on in our busy house, and although we know he can't see it all, you wouldn't know it by the way he's cranking that head around.

Russell

I have been tagged by Shonna to answer a few questions about my husband. Enjoy...

4. Who is taller? He is by about 7 inches

6. Who is more sensitive? Me and according to him I'm way too sensitive

7. Who does the laundry? Me

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're looking at it, I do.

9. Who pays the bills? Russell makes all the money and I wish he paid all the bills but I have that honor!

10. Who cooks more? I do all of that

11. Who is more stubborn? Him, He's a boy clone of his sister

12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Me, ALWAYS!!! I'm not sure Russell would live through that tremendous task!!!

13. Who has more siblings? Russell:: 3 sisters, Me::1 sister

17. Guilty Pleasures? Neither of us really has a guilty pleasure but if I could have one it would be SHOPPING!!

18. How did you meet? I was constantly riding this dirt road (Wiggins Farm Rd.) coming to see Marrianne and he asked her who that girl was in the red Expedition... a few weeks later, he asked me out...

19. Who asked whom out first? He asked me

20. Who kissed who first? He kissed me

21. Who proposed? He did

22. His best features and qualities? strong (physically and willed), Godly, strong work ethic, loving father, "perty eyeballs"

23. Tag you’re it. Who do you tag? Ashley W., Angie, Sam, and anyone else that would like to do it!

Rocking her world...

Just a little evidence of what can happen when you bring a new baby into the life of a very strong willed, high maintenance, fashion concious two year old...

and yes... her sleep deprived, dazed and confused mother let her wear it out in public! To WalMart no less!!! Is it worth the all out melt down she will have if I try to get her to wear what I think she should? I think NOT!

Even with that hard headed side of hers, she's not having any trouble getting used to loving on him. She "tisses" (kisses) him all day long.

Jack Brother

I've been a bit slack in getting a slide show together, but once I looked at Shonna's I decided there was no need. She's covered it all and then some! A huge thank you for that because I can't imagine having enough time on my hands right now to do that. Please check out Shonna's blog if you haven't already! As it stands right now, RG has gone to spend the night with Russell's parents and all of the Fleming crew and MR went home with my parents when they came to visit (oops...they just called and she's wanting her Mama and Daddy). There is a chance that we might actually get some sleep tonight because Jack is not currently the problem its MR!!! She's decided that its much better to be held all night than to sleep in your bed.
Anyway, Jack Brother- as Maggie Ruth has named him- is 9 days old now. He's a very easy baby thus far. Loves to eat, cries only when he's hungry, sleeps pretty good at night and is full of sweet, sweet sugar!!! I could just eat him up. He's struggled with a little bit of jaundice and isn't gaining weight like he should. So...its back to Dr. E's on Monday for a weigh in. Please pray that he's gained some weight because I really want to be able to nurse him, but no weight gain could very well mean we have to start formula. The thought of it makes me sad.
Jack's Aunt Kathy and Aunt Kristen Sue have requested some updated pictures so here are a few. I took them today while he was sitting in MR's lap. She and RG are such good helpers!

MR and Jack:: on our way to Dr. E's on Monday

The sweetest cheek sugar you can imagine!!

I'm not sure you'd notice it, but I LOVE the way his hair turns up over his ears. His Daddy's does the same thing when it gets too long.

By the way, as I finish this up...MR is walking in the door! That didn't last very long.

Jack Russell Wiggins

We are so elated to have Jack Russell Wiggins here!!! He was born Wednesday, January 7th at 11:20 a.m. He weighed 7lbs. 13oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. I must say it was the best birthday present I've EVER received!!!
The verdict is out... he looks very much like his handsome daddy!
Two very excited sisters! (Its wearing off of one a little though...I'm sure you know which!)

I'll try to share more photos with you all later...there are so many, I'd hate to bore you. I'll try to get a slide show together soon.

Sooner than we'd planned!

Well, my ticker says we still have 15 more days but Russell and I will be leaving at about 3:30 tomorrow morning to head to Enterprise! Jack has decided that he doesn't want to wait til the 16th or even the 21st... he'll hopefully be here sometime tomorrow. I went to the Dr. today and was 3 cm., so he decided we should probably just come on in and get this show on the road. Dr. Pollard is supposed to come in around 6-6:30 to break my water and we'll go from there. If everything progresses like the last 2, he should be here within the hour. I'm not going to get my hopes up on it working out like that but I'd bet we'll have him here by lunch. Thanks for all the sweet comments you've all already sent us and we'll update as soon as we get a chance.
