This morning, as Russell was leaving I, (as usual) asked what he'd be doing today- since its always something different and I can plan whether or not he'll be home for lunch...anyway, all that to say this. Maggie Ruth and I got to go with Russell to "get cows" as we've always called. Russell has a sweet, sweet man that buys most of his cattle for him (Mr. Randy). While we were over at Mr. Randy's barn his wife, Mrs. Wanda came up to see if we wanted to go to her nurse barn. She's in charge of "nursing" the sick cows and calves, and any other stray animal that happens to wander up. She's so good at what she does and loves to share the animals with us when we go over. Today there were two calves that Maggie Ruth got to pet (for the first time) and she also got to feed a mama cow (as we call them). There were 2 new kittens that someone had left at the barn just yesterday and tonight she told me that a stray baby goat wandered up late this afternoon. She welcomes all of the animals! We had a ball petting the calves and giving one of them his bottle. I just had to share the pictures with you all of Maggie. I love the way she would squat down to try to get them to come to her. She was about eye level with them already, but I guess that's how she thought they'd come to her. It was precious. She also just loves to "moo" at them. Its like she knows what they're saying so she just talks back to them.
Ooops! Sorry, I forgot to take the time to rotate some of the pictures before I made the slide show. Maybe you won't have a crick in your neck when you're done! I also realized, as I had finished typing, that I should've waited for the slide show to load...sorry for the 2 posts! Mendy I did it too and I was not about to go back and retype it all! If it weren't so late maybe I'd have the patients to change it...but its bedtime!!

So sweet. I can tell Miss Maggie Ruth is a true farm girl!
Russell may have to add Maggie Ruth to the payroll with all of this experience she is gaining at such a young age. Looks like it comes naturally. :)
I love how she is bending down to "call" the cows over to her! She seems to have a fearless and outgoing personality. Maybe she could teach John Luke some pointers on the outgoing personality part!!
